DWTS Week 2 brought plenty of memorable performances to the ballroom as the celebrities and their professional partners took on some of the internet’s biggest viral hits.
For the second week of competition, the Dancing With the Stars season 35 cast performed routines inspired by songs and moments that have taken social media by storm. The episode also featured another elimination, making every performance and viewer vote especially important.
DWTS Week 2: A Three-Way Tie at the Top
Jenna Dewan and Val Chmerkovskiy got the night started with a Jive to Katseye’s “Animal.” The pair earned 21 out of 30, putting them at the top of the leaderboard.
They were later joined by Ezra Frech and Daniella Karagach, who earned three sevens for their Cha Cha to Flo Rida’s “Low.” Amber Glenn and Pasha Pashkov also scored 21 points after performing a Tango to “All the Things She Said.”
The three couples ultimately shared the top spot, while Maura Higgins and Mark Ballas finished close behind with 19 points.
Who Went Home on DWTS Week 2?
The bottom of the leaderboard saw Giada De Laurentiis and Alan Bersten and Guillermo Rodriguez and Witney Carson tied with 12 points each. Ultimately, Giada and Alan were eliminated from the competition.

The elimination combined the judges’ scores with viewer votes. According to the episode, voting was particularly strong, with the night receiving more fan votes than either episode of the season 35 premiere.
Other notable scores included Ciara Miller and Brandon Armstrong with 18, Harry Shum Jr. and Jenna Johnson with 18, and Maura Higgins and Mark Ballas with 19.
With another celebrity now out of the running, the remaining couples will return to the ballroom for the next round of season 35.
