CBS’ “Race” is on again

CBS announced Tuesday a nationwide search for participants in The Amazing Race, a reality adventure series set to air this fall. The series will pit 11 couples against one another in a worldwide trek. The team that reaches the final destination first will win a $1 million prize. Each contestant should have a prior relationship with his/her teammate, like a grandparent and grandchild, two best friends, husband and wife, or virtually any other combination. The couples, who will be filmed 24 hours a day, will have to fend for themselves using limited financial resources. The show will be produced by Jerry Bruckheimer (Pearl Harbor) and Bertram van Munster (Cops, Wild Things) in association with Touchstone Television and CBS Productions. Applications are being accepted now through Aug. 3 exclusively on CBS.com and must be accompanied by proof of a valid U.S. passport and a three-minute videotape that includes both teammates.
