Chile ousts film censorship board

Chile has decided to do away with its official film and TV censorship board, the Consejo de Calificación Cinematografica, Screen Daily, the daily online edition of the British trade publication Screen International, reported Wednesday. The government move came following publication of a survey by the newspaper Las Ultimas Notícias indicating that an overwhelming 74 percent of the country favors allowing erotic movies to be shown after 10 p.m.
