Court hearing postponed for Downey Jr.

A judge put off a hearing Monday for Robert Downey Jr. on charges of possession of cocaine and prescription drug Valium because the actor last week checked into rehab after another drug-related arrest. His court appearance is now scheduled for May 24. Downey, who continues to run afoul of the law because of his drug addiction, was arrested in November in a Palm Springs hotel after police reportedly found drugs in his room. The Ally McBeal costar, on parole from a previous drug-related conviction, was charged April 24 with being under the influence of a controlled substance. He will remain in rehab for at least six months.
