Actor David Spade has quite the forgiving heart for a guy who was burglarized and attacked with a stun gun.
Spade was attacked by David Warren Malloy, 29, who was once the actor’s friend and personal assistant, at the actor’s Beverly Hills home Wednesday. Burglary apparently was the motive that led to a struggle between the two friends, followed by Malloy’s initial attack with a stun gun. Spade, 36, was able to get free himself from the altercation long enough to call 911.
Malloy fled but was later arrested in a L.A. suburb and taken to a hospital, Reuters reports. Police said that Malloy might have been suicidal when he was taken into custody.
“David Malloy was a good friend of mine for five years,” the “Just Shoot Me” star said in a statement. “I believe he is a good person who is obviously mentally troubled right now. I can only hope that he seeks the help he needs to get well. My heart goes out to him.”
