Disney is planning to go to court next week to seek an order blocking Video Pipeline Web site from making parts of Disney movie trailers available online. The company’s Buena Vista Home Entertainment unit is seeking an injunction, which, if granted, could result in Disney trailers being pulled from dozens of other online sites as well. As reported Tuesday by CNET News.com, Video Pipeline claims it has fair use and first-sale rights to the trailers. In an interview with the online publication, Video Pipeline President Jed Horovitz accused Disney of wanting “to have total control, because they want to compete with retail.”
