Comic twosome Helen Hunt and Hank Azaria’s marriage is on the rocks after only one year of wedded bliss, a publicist for Hunt confirmed today. Reports have been circulating in the past few weeks about marriage troubles for the newlyweds. The New York Daily News reported in June that Azaria had moved out of the couple’s L.A. home in early June and was staying at the Bel-Air Hotel under a false name.
Hunt’s publicist, Steven Huvane, confirmed today that the couple has been separated for a few months now.
“They remain good friends,” Huvane said.
“We are not making a comment at this time,” said a spokeswoman for Azaria’s publicist.
Hunt won an Oscar for 1997’s “As Good As It Gets.” Azaria has appeared in “The Birdcage” and 1998’s “Godzilla.”
