Six months after her much-publicized breakup with Dennis Quaid, Meg Ryan is finally talking about the experience.
The media experience, more precisely.
The 38-year-old actress gets vocal in the January issue of Harper’s Bazaar, discussing the hypocrisy and public intrusion that have been surrounding the marital split and her subsequent romance with her “Proof of Life” co-star Russell Crowe.
“It’s been very weird to find out how ready people are to think the worst of you,” Ryan told the magazine.
“My marriage was breaking up long before it became a matter for public discussion. I will never talk about the reasons why it broke up, and neither will Dennis,” the actress continued.
Ryan and Quaid, 46, met on the set of “D.O.A.” in 1991 and wed in 1998.
To the surprise of much of the world, the couple broke up in late June. Quaid filed for divorce on July 12, and Ryan followed suit on Aug. 14.
They have a 7-year-old son.
