In a move presumably intended to give physical dimension to its proclaimed intention to reduce costs, NBC told New York real-estate agents Wednesday that it plans to lease about 130,000 square feet of office space that it owns at its 30 Rockefeller Plaza headquarters, the New York Daily News reported Thursday. “We’ve downsized the company, so we need less space,” an NBC spokeswoman told the newspaper. The intended rental space represents only a tiny fraction of the 21 floors of office space that the network owns in the 70-story tower, once known as the RCA Building.
