The family of the late drumming legend Buddy Rich filed a lawsuit Friday against RCA Records and its parent company, BMG music, alleging charges of fraud, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty and intentional misrepresentation of royalties, Reuters reports. The family claims RCA/BMG failed to pay expected royalties to Rich’s daughter and widow. “It is regrettable that we have had to file this action, after the valuable relationship RCA Records has had with my father for many years,” Rich’s daughter, Cathy, said. RCA spokespeople did not comment on the suit, claiming they were unaware of such proceedings.
