Roy Horn Transferred to New Hospital

Illusionist Roy Horn of Siegfried and Roy was moved to an undisclosed medical facility in Los Angeles on Tuesday, almost a month after the Oct. 3 tiger attack that nearly took his life during a sold-out performance at the Mirage hotel-casino. Horn, 59, has been in an intensive care unit at University Medical Center in Las Vegas since the attack.

Horn’s publicist, Dave Kirvin, told The Associated Press about the move, but did not provide details about Horn’s specific location, prognosis or current condition at the Horn family’s request.

AP reports, however, that physicians have said Horn is improving and was able to move his hands and feet after suffering a stroke and severe blood loss. Horn’s prognosis remains unknown, but MGM Mirage officials have said the performer will have a long recovery period.
