Satellite distribution deal planned

Japan’s Toshiba Corp and AOL Time Warner are planning a joint enterprise to distribute motion pictures via satellite to theaters around the world, the Asahi Shimbun reported Sunday. The newspaper quoted AOL Time Warner Co-COO Richard Parsons as saying that the company hopes to realize the plan, which would employ Toshiba technology, within three to five years.
