We wish we could tell you otherwise, but “Xena: Warrior Princess” has reached the fate of inevitably all TV series. Studios USA Domestic Television, “Xena’s” producer, announced this morning that the oft-campy action drama will be going off the air at the end of this season.
The series will finish shooting all 22 episode for the season and is expected to air through summer 2001.
“‘Xena’ has been an outstanding performer for us since its September 1995 debut … and we want to see it to go out on top,” USA Studio President Steve Rosenberg said in a press statement.
Currently in its sixth season, the Lucy Lawless actioner follows the adventures of the titular warrior princess, Xena, and her bubbly sidekick Gabrielle (Renne O’Connor). The show has been a top-rated show in syndication, and it’s seen in more than 115 countries.
