There are so many amazing dancers we have watched on So You Think You Can Dance it’s kind of hard to keep track of where they all went. Luckily for you we checked in and found out! Some of them have worked on amazing music videos and tours. Others have started acting and made their Broadway debut. Here are some of the greatest dancers from SYTYCD and what they are doing now.
The contemporary dancer competed in season five but was eliminated after making the Top 6. He definitely hasn’t quit since the show. He danced with Beyoncé at the 2010 Grammy Awards and was in Rihanna’s “Hard” music video. He also went on tour with Alicia Keys. Ade is busy teaching master classes across America. He’s currently in production for a short film called G4 and is a SYTYCD All-Star.
The ballet dancer made it to the Top 10 before snapping his Achilles tendon. After taking a year to heal he performed on Smash, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Glee, and The Voice. You might have seen him in Pharrell’s “Happy” music video and Peter Pan Live! He has also started singing and made it to the semifinals on American Idol.
Big Papa was a season one contender and made it to the Top 12. He is still at it dancing in different studios and teaches hip hop classes.
The hip hop dancer made it to the Top 12 in season 2. Since then she was a backup dancer for Gwen Stefani on Saturday Night Live, and she toured with Miley Cyrus during her Hannah Montana tour. She can also be spotted dancing in Step Up 3D, Go For It!, and Side Effects.
After the duo both competed on season 6 they partnered up together to create their fitness training company called Ryan and Ashleigh. They have worked with many people including celebrities.
The second season winner has grown personally and professionally since the show. He has come out as gay, started a band called The Weekend Forecast, and acted in movies including Leading Ladies and Holiday Spin.
The season 6 and 7 contestant is working more in theater. He is working on a project called The God Complex, which is immersive theater. He is also a choreographer, and a cast member in Punchdrunk’s “Sleep No More.” You also might have spotted him in Britney Spears’ music video, “Hold It Against Me.”
The season 5 contemporary dancer is in an episode of Glee along with Dancing with the Stars after his time on the show. He also went on to dance for Britney Spears on her tour.
The season 10 Latin Ballroom contestant was eliminated, but she’s still dancing. She has gone on to perform with Taylor Swift, Pitbull, Huey Lewis, Kevin Hart, Jennifer Lopez, Meghan Trainor, Ed Sheeran, Ross Lynch and Patty Labelle. She also joined the professional troupe on Dancing With the Stars in season 20.
The season 9 winner has gone on to create his own dance company called I Am Force where he is creative director and choreographer.
The blonde made it to the Top 6 before leaving the show. Since then she has been on the show, Chasing 8s and was nominated for an Emmy for choreographing a paso doble called “Maleguena.”
After the show, the dancer was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and has been spreading awareness for it by participating in The Beat MS Dance Walk. She hasn’t let it slowed her down and stars in Hit the Floor. She was also in Glee and Grease: Live.
The third season runner up went on to debut on Broadway in “Memphis” and performed on Dancing With the Stars. He was then hired as a soloist for Norway’s National Ballet.
The Russian dancer made it to the Top 20 on season 2. Since then he performed on American Idol and was a professional on Dancing With the Stars. He was also nominated for an Emmy for choreographing an Argentine Tango, “A Los Amigos.”
The season 2 finalist is the only woman to compete on the show along with America’s Best Dance Crew. She has moved on to teaching at the Millennium Dance Complex company.
The season 9 winner went on to dancing on Taylor Swift’s Red Tour. She also started acting and got a role on Bones.
The season 6 finalist performed on Smash and Glee. She also got to go on tour with Janet Jackson. She now teaches and is a choreographer at Broadway Dance Center.
The dancer got an Emmy for his season 3 choreography of “The Flower and the Hummingbird” on the show. He has since founded a dance company called “Quest Crew” which won on America’s Best Dance Crew. He choreographed a lot of LMFAO’s videos including “Sexy and I Know It.”
The Top 10 contestant on season 3 has moved on to big things. She was a featured dancer in High School Musical 3. She also had roles on Glee and Rock of Ages. She was an assistant choreographer for Miley Cyrus and Kylie Minogue’s word tours. She’s now a principal in Shaping Sound company.
The Top 8 finalist has really kept it moving since the show. She has danced with Jennifer Lopez, performed on Glee, and was in the stage show, Burn The Floor. She has lately been a professional dancer on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing.
The season 4 contestant is now teaching. You might have also seen in him Step Up 3D, Footloose, American Horror Story, and Community.
The top female dancer of season 4 has been keeping busy. She performed on Glee, Step Up 3D, and danced with Jennifer Lopez. You might have also spotted her in Disney’s Jump Around and Paris by Night. She now teaches for the Manhattan Dance Project.
The squeaky voice season six standout and favorite of judge Adam Shankman was cast in Step Up Revolution and is taking Hollywood by storm. She is a regular on the dance competition circuit and a SYTYCD All-Star. After starring the music video for Muse’s single Dead Inside Kathryn begins her most exciting project to date, marriage! Like air a movie written by her husband and starring Kathryn was released in 2015.
She was the youngest competitor of her season and made it to the Top 10 on season 4. Since then she has appeared in Fame, Glee, No Strings Attached, True Blood, Vegas, Dancing With the Stars and more. She was also a dancer for Katy Perry.
The season 4 competitor has been busy choreographing music videos for Incubus and Tripnotic. She also teaches sometimes at Broadway Dance Center.
The contemporary dancer made it to the Top 10 before being eliminated in season 5. Since then he has been touring with Madonna on her Rebel Heart tour.
The season 3 contestant had to work out to get out of her brother’s shadow. But she has since been a professional dancer on Dancing With the Stars.
LoFro was a professional dancer and had an appearance on Glee but made the switch to finishing up her education. She graduated from college and is now back to focusing on dancing.
The contemporary dancer from season 3 made it to the final 6. Now she has been acting and dancing. She’s been in ABCD, Welcome 2 Karachi, Any Body Can Dance, and Welcome Back.
The jazz dancer competed on season 4 but got eliminated at the Top 6. Recently he has been on Dancing With the Stars and American Idol. He also went on to dance for celebrities like Lady Gaga, Keri Hilson, Carrie Underwood, Katy Perry, Janet Jackson, and Beyoncé.
The lyrical dancer competed in season 2, but since then she is still performing in competitions. She is also performing in Wicked.
After making it to the Top 10 he is now in the infamous Hamilton play and has appeared on Glee.
The first season winner was also the first one to audition for the show. Since then he founded the Evolution Dance Company and became a faculty member of Jump Dance Convention. He also appeared in the series, All the Right Moves.
The season 5 dancer had no formal training, but that didn’t stop him. He’s now choreographing and performing with IaMmE Crew.
The contemporary dancer made it to the Top 20 on season 3. Recently he’s be on Raising Asia, Dance Moms, and Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition. He’s also worked with Gloria Estefan, Patti LaBelle, and more.
The season 6 winner went on to perform in the Urban Nutcracker. He now judges China’s So You Think You Can Dance.
The Quest Crew member performed on the first season of the show. He has gone on to performing in LMAFO’s music videos “Sexy And I Know It,” “Party Rock Anthem,” and “Champagne Showers.”
The season 3 competitor and first female winner made the transition to teaching at Broadway Dance Center and many other studios.
The dancer basically moved right off the reality show and on to Madonna’s tour. After that she has appeared on Austin & Ally. She also came out as a lesbian since the show aired.
The blonde made it into the Top 20 on season 4. She has recently worked in Rock of Ages, Dancing With the Stars, and owns her own dance studio called Show Stopper Studio.
The contemporary dancer was on the second season of the show. He has since been nominated for an Emmy for his choreography on the show. He’s also teaching and performing with American Dance Artists and Evolution Dance Company. You might have also seen him in Bedtime Stories.
The season 6 competitor made it to the Top 12. Now he is a co-owner of Stars Dance Studio and teaches, which was shown on Dance Moms: Miami.
