15 Reasons Why Jessica Jones Should Be Your New Favorite Superhero

Jessica Jones is not your typical Marvel superhero show. Rather than typical family-friendly fare, the Netflix series relies on dark story lines and a relatable, yet edgy lead character. As Jessica Jones, Krysten Ritter creates a tragically flawed character who refuses to be a victim of her past. That is one of the many reasons why she is our new favorite superhero!

1. Her introduction (a shot-for-shot recreation from the comic panels) is amazing.

2. She is super strong, but pretty casual about it.

3. Like most of us, she doesn’t know how to put a résumé together.

4. She doesn’t have time for people who victimize themselves.

5. You will never see her sympathize with the villain

6. Her patience for keeping a clean house is relatable to all of us.

7. She will always have your back.

8. She tells people what they need to hear.

9. She believes in consent.

10. She is very creative. Look at how she saved Trish Walker (Rachael Taylor) after Kilgrave instructed her friend to “put a bullet in her head.”

11. She can save lives while wearing a hoagie costume.

12. She doesn’t mind working alone every now and then.

13. She is the queen of sarcasm.

14. But at the end of the day, she tries to be a good friend.

15. And she doesn’t hold back from giving Kilgrave (David Tennant) what he deserves.
