Normally, we’re not big on bringing you Elizabeth Taylor news because, well, we have troubling remembering why Elizabeth Taylor is supposed to be famous. But this item caught our eye: Elizabeth Taylor generating a headline that has nothing to do with a hospital stay.
Yes, it’s true. The oft-ill, 68-year-old actress was not laid up today. Instead, she was in London receiving honors from Queen Elizabeth II for her work with AIDS charities. The British-born actress is now officially a Dame, as is “Mary Poppins” portrayer Julie Andrews, 64, who also was honored by the queen.
Said Taylor: “Today doesn’t compare to anything else that’s happened to me in my life.”
