Dieter is not amused. According to Los Angeles’ City News Service, comic Mike Myers has walked on the long-planned “Sprockets” movie (named of “Dieter,” after the title character), short-circuiting a film that was to bring him his first $20 million paycheck.
Universal Pictures apparently isn’t amused, either — it reportedly has sued Myers, saying its out millions in development money.
“Dieter” was to star Myers as the turtleneck-wearin’ German talk-show host he introduced back on “Saturday Night Live.” Other “stars” set to appear in the film included fellow “SNL”-er Will Ferrell and David Hasselhoff. (That cast cost millions?)
Until (and unless) the film gets back on track, audiences will be denied the chance to watch Dieter (Myers) seek the return of his kidnapped monkey.
