Another day, another Anna Nicole Smith court update.
A Houston judge ruled against a mistrial motion by Smith‘s lawyers on Wednesday, saying that the dumbbell injury suffered by the 32-year-old erstwhile former Playboy playmate is not serious enough to deter her from going to court, Reuters reports.
“It’s her choice not to be here. I think she’s able to be here,” probate Judge Mike Wood was quoted as saying. “I can’t declare a mistrial based on this evidence.”
Smith‘s lawyer was looking to force a mistrial, saying that her extensive court absence from her arm injury could alienate the jury.
As readers might remember, Smith has been hospitalized for the past two weeks since a dumbbell fell on her hand while she was exercising.
