HOLLYWOOD, Feb. 21, 2001 – From sitcoms to cinema, the friendship between TV titans Ray Romano and Kevin James has held strong, and now the funnymen are bringing their talents to the movie world.
TV Guide has reported that Romano (“Everybody Loves Raymond”) and James (“The King Of Queens”) are gearing up for writer/director Jon Favreau‘s (“Swingers“) new comedy, “Bridge and Tunnel.” In the film, Romano will play a doctor in Queens who is recently separated from his wife, while James will play his personal trainer, who repeatedly tries to jolt the doctor from his depression.
Romano has described the film as a “sort of buddy picture — a ‘Swingers‘ for the thirtysomething/fortysomething crowd.” Favreau, who the comedians contacted due to their love of “Swingers,” says of the pair: “These two have a lot over most stand-ups that I’ve seen in film — a lot of chemistry together that no one’s seen yet.” In an interview with TV Guide, Favreau said that he hopes to start shooting the film between April and June.
