The American Film Institute is honoring funnyman Billy Crystal with its Star Award at the 2001 U.S. Comedy Arts Festival, Daily Variety reports. The seventh annual event will once again take place in Aspen, Colo., from Feb. 28 through March 4, organizers said Tuesday. The weeklong gathering showcases fresh comic talent, and details about the festival will be announced over the next few months.
Crystal‘s credits include “Analyze This,” “When Harry Met Sally” and “City Slickers.” He’s also a celebrated Academy Awards host and six-time Emmy winner.
Past AFI honorees include Robin Williams, Steve Martin, Monty Python and Jerry Seinfeld.
