Britain “Drowned” by Madonna’s presence

Madonna celebrated Independence Day by performing her first date on her British leg of the Drowned Tour in front of 18,000 people at a sold-out Earl’s Court venue in London, and declaring, “God Save the Queen.” According to Reuters, the pop singer performed around 20 of her songs, from recent tunes to going back to 1983’s hit single “Holiday.” One of the night’s highlights was when Madonna dedicated the song “I Deserve It” to her husband, Guy Ritchie, whom she married in December. “I have been waiting months to do it in the city he was born in, so this is for my husband and for every one of you,” she told the audience. Madonna will perform six shows in London, which were sold out immediately in April. The Drowned Tour began in Barcelona, Spain, on June 9 and will arrive in the United State later in the summer
