Clark still partying as “Mr. New Year’s Eve”

ABC will celebrate it’s 30th anniversary of New Year’s Eve shows with Dick Clark as host, and the 72-year-old Clark is just as spunky as ever.

“Expect a potpourri of today’s talent, and, if you’ve been with us for the 30 years, a few memories too,” Clark told The New York Post.

No stranger to the entertainment industry, Mr. New Year’s Eve has been rockin’ around the clock for a while. Clark‘s ubiquitous TV show American Bandstand, which ran from 1957 to 1987, was a precursor of today’s MTV, and you may also recognize him as one of TV’s newest daily talk show hosts on The Other Half.

When asked about the possibility of retirement, Clark replied, “No way. If I stay healthy, I’ll keep working until I get called to leave this life.”

Dick Clark‘s Primetime New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2002 will air at 10 pm E.T. on Dec. 31. Clark will report live on the festivities in Times Square, New York. Scheduled guest performers include Blink 182, Pink, Blu Cantrell, Bush and Busta Rhymes, among others.
