Enrique Iglesias Can, Too, Sing!

Enrique Iglesias can keep his Grammy. At least that’s what Howard Stern deigned today after inviting the Latin heartthrob to his national radio show to prove that he could, too, sing.

By way of background: Earlier this week, Stern played what was billed as an undoctored tape of Iglesias crooning — or, really croaking — through a rendition of his hit “Rhythm Divine.” As word spread that Iglesias — scion of lovemeister Julio Iglesias — might be another Milli and/or Vanilli, the singer promised to prove his pipes on Stern‘s show.

Which brings us back to today: Iglesias showed up at Stern‘s New York studio with a guitar player (but minus any electronic gadgets) and sang two songs, “Be With You” and the troublesome “Rhythm Divine.”

The verdict? He sounded a lot better than he did on the tape (Iglesias, who never denied it was his voice on the tape, offered that he may have been goofing around when the bootleg was recorded), and he did struggle a tad with the high notes.

In any case, Iglesias, who was warned by Stern that he may have to return his Grammy if he didn’t pass the test, passed the test.

Also, everyone on Stern‘s show agreed that Iglesias was really hot.

And now you know.
