Lara’s school to get free ads in U.K.

The Scottish private school Gordonstoun is receiving more than $1.7 million in free in-theater advertising as part of a legal settlement with game maker Eidos, which designed the Lara Croft computer games, the London Independentreported Monday. The newspaper said that Eidos, which had neglected to seek approval from the school for its use of the name, agreed to produce a three-minute ad for Gordonstoun that will precede screenings of Tomb Raider when it opens next weekend in the United Kingdom.
