The mean streets of posh London have not been kind to Madonna. Less than a month after the M One’s boyfriend, director Guy Ritchie, was arrested for beating up a guy the pair found waiting outside her mansion, the same mansion reportedly has been knocked over by burglars.
According to Britain’s Sun, robbers broke into the home Tuesday night/Wednesday morning as Madonna and Ritchie attended the U.K. premiere of her film, “The Next Best Thing.”
We do not know why they did this — Madonna and Ritchie going to see her bad movie, that is. We can pretty well figure out the thieves’ motivation — they wanted her stuff.
But apparently they didn’t want much. British authorities say one bag, containing a credit card, wallet and keys, was taken. (For the record, Madonna‘s camp denies a burgarly took place.)
In other Madonna news, meanwhile, her rep has denied that the pregnant entertainer wants to return to her roots in the theater and star this summer in the hot-topic off-Broadway play “The Vagina Monologues.” Madonna‘s spokeswoman says the M One was approached about a role, as first reported in Broadway.com, but that she declined the offer.
