Oscar-winning Marlon Brando can’t keep his promises.
The New York Post reports Maria Cristina Ruiz, a former maid for the actor, has filed a $100 million lawsuit against Brando, claiming he has reneged on his vow to take care of her and the three children they had together.
According to the court papers, Ruiz began a relationship with Brando in February 1988, while she was working as one of his domestic servants. At the time, she was 29, and he was 63. Over the next six years, Ruiz had three children with The Godfather star–ages 13, 10 and 8–and lived with him in a house he provided for her in Los Angeles.
“[He] promised he would always provide for and financially support” her, and she “would be secure for the rest of her life,” the court papers stated. On this pledge, Ruiz gave up any goals of her own to become a full-time mom and homemaker.
Then, according to the suit, Brando broke off “all support and maintenance” from her last December but has continued to pay child support. The two have remained cordial for the kids.
Brando had no comment last night, his agent told The Post.
