Top Story: Actress Delaney Off to Rehab
Kim Delaney, former star of ABC’s NYPD Blue and CBS’ CSI: Miami, has checked herself into a rehabilitation center for alcohol addiction, The Associated Press reports. “Due to a stressful year, Kim made the decision to enter a program at Sierra Tucson,” her spokeswoman, Robin Baum, told AP. Delaney, 41, was arrested in January 2002 after she was seen driving erratically on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, Calif. She later pleaded no contest to reckless driving and was sentenced to probation and a safe-driving course.
X2 Art Book Hits Shelves
20th Century Fox and Newmarket Press are releasing The Art of X2, an official companion to the movie X2, which includes over 300 full-color images that showcase film stills, concept drawings, set designs and photos, costume sketches, makeup test stills and storyboards for four sequences of the film. The press release also states the book will be published with three different colored book jackets–blue and red for paperback and silver foil for the hardcover.
Bit Actor Caught With Gun at Tribeca Film Festival
Private security guards arrested 20-year-old actor Hanif Mohammad Wednesday at the Tribeca Film Festival for trying to get into a screening with a loaded .357-caliber Magnum handgun, AP reports. Mohammad was attempting to see Death of a Dynasty, in which he plays a small role. The Manhattan district attorney’s office said Thursday that he had not yet been arraigned, AP reports.
Rosie Back in the Mag Biz
Rosie O’Donnell, whose magazine Rosie went belly-up last year due to in-house conflicts, will be a contributing writer to the gay and lesbian magazine The Advocate. According to AP, her first column appears in the May 13 issue.
Four Arrested in Potter Theft
British police have arrested four people on suspicion of stealing two advanced copies of the fifth Harry Potter installment, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, from the book’s printers. The manuscripts were found dumped in a field in eastern England. Police told AP they arrested three teenagers and a 44-year-old man late Wednesday night.

Due to the success of House of 1,000 Corpses, writer/director/rocker Rob Zombie is set to write and direct a sequel for Lions Gate Films. The studio says the film has proven to be an extremely profitable acquisition, grossing over $11 million at the domestic box office in its first month of release…meanwhile, Miramax Films has snatched up Bend It Like Beckham director Gurinder Chadha and her next project, an as-yet-untitled Bollywood musical starring New Zealand actor Martin Henderson (The Ring) and Indian superstar Aishwarya Rai.
Role Call, Part II: Rhames, Polley Play Dead, Latifah Gets Mobbed
Ving Rhames and Sarah Polley (Go) are in negotiations to star in a remake of the horror classic Dawn of the Dead. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Dead is about a mysterious plague that causes the newly dead to rise from their graves and begin to eat the living. During the chaos, a core group of remaining humans takes refuge in a shopping mall…on the lighter side, the hotter-than-hot Queen Latifah is close to signing a deal to do My Wife Is a Gangster, a remake of a South Korean action-comedy. According to The Reporter, the film is about a female mob boss who gets married to please her dying sister. She chooses a poor, unsuspecting dupe who has no idea what he’s getting into in the hopes that he won’t ask too many questions. However, he starts to wise up, and she starts to fall in love.
