Marking a strategic departure from its historic posture, Playboy Enterprises has agreed to acquire three hardcore porn channels from Califa Entertainment Group. According to published reports, Playboy will pay $70 million for the channels and assume a $12-million note that Califa’s parent, Vivid Entertainment, wrote to Playboy when Playboy acquired the soft-core Spice channel from it two years ago.
