Ratings hit flat note for Tonys

The ratings for Sunday’s Tony Awards on CBS barely beat out last year’s record low, despite all the hoopla and hype surrounding the landslide of awards given to The Producers. The Tonys grabbed a share of 6.4, just up from last year’s dismal 6.1, and well below 1999’s 7.0, says The New York Times. Since 1997, the ratings for the Tonys have declined each and every year. Each rating point represents just a bit more than 1 million homes.
