SAG takes hard line on strikebreakers

The Screen Actor Guild has banned eight Hollywood actors from joining the union after they crossed picket lines against advertisers last year, Variety reports. This brings the total number of actors who have been banned to 39, including 11 who were banned for the maximum amount of five years. SAG’s Membership Application Review Committee investigated more than 1,500 nonmembers for working during the six-month strike. SAG has publicly identified a half-dozen members who crossed picket lines, including Tiger Woods and Elizabeth Hurley, both found guilty by trial boards.
