Suitors go all out to woo Couric

With her contract with NBC News due to expire in May, Today show host Katie Couric is being aggressively courted by numerous media companies, the Los Angeles Times reported Friday. The newspaper noted that DreamWorks’ Jeffrey Katzenberg and Steven Spielberg reportedly spent more than $100,000 on an elaborate video presentation to her that included extras waving placards reading “We Love You Katie.” Katzenberg was also said to have written a multimillion-dollar check and handed it to Kouric’s representatives, telling them that it was a bonus check that she could cash as soon as she signed a contract with DreamWorks.
