‘The Expendables’ enjoys last day at number 1

Thursday Daily Box Office Rally

073046H1.jpgFirst Place – The Expendables grossed a strong $1.48 million Thursday, making it the #1 film in America for the 14th day in a row.  Sylvester Stallone‘s actioner has now crossed $72.5 million and has had an incredible late-summer run at the box office.

Second PlaceJulia Roberts‘ romance-drama-travelogue Eat Pray Love remained in second place yesterday with a $1.47 million take at the box office, enough to push the film’s 14-day total to some $53.71 million.

Third PlaceThe Other Guys stayed ahead of the competition once again Wednesday with $900,408, taking the the Adam McKay comedy to a $92.73 million cumulative domestic gross.  Will Ferrell, who co-stars with Mark Wahlberg, saw the second biggest opening of his career when The Other Guys debuted on August 6th.
